VILLANOVA, Pa.—The inaugural edition of the Villanova weekly wrap has named the Wildcats top performers of the week for the period of August 18-24. This week's standout student-athletes include junior forward Sam Nyenka (Lower Merion, Pa.) from men's soccer and graduate forward Hannah Curtin (Winchester, Mass.) from women's soccer. Both teams secured their first victories of the 2025 campaign last week and were the only Villanova sports in action as the Fall seasons get into full swing.

Top Performers of the Week
 
Men's Soccer
Sam Nyenka (Junior, Forward, Lower Merion, Pa.)
 
In the men's soccer season opener and his Villanova debut, Nyenka bookended the scoring in a 5-0 win over Rider with goals in the eighth minute and 76^th minute. He recorded three of the Wildcats eight shots on goal.
 
Women's Soccer
Hannah Curtin (Graduate, Forward, Winchester, Mass.)
 
Curtin tallied the only score of the game in the 39^th minute as the Wildcats blanked Columbia, 1-0, on its home field on August 24. A defensive battle saw just eight total shots on goal by both teams on the day, with Curtin coming away with two shots and her first game-winning goal in a Villanova uniform.
