BETHLEHEM, Pa.—The duo of junior
CJ Sullivan (Milton, Mass.) and sophomore
Charlie Moore (Brisbane, Australia) crossed the finish line with virtually identical times and were the top two runners at the Lehigh Invitational on Friday evening. Villanova opened the 2025 season with the small, local meet which is held just as teams are starting their preparations in earnest for the bulk of the season to come. Sullivan and Moore paced a contingent of five Wildcats who ran the 6,000-meter race on the Goodman Campus Course at Lehigh.
Official results from Friday's race had Sullivan first and Moore second in a field of 73 runners, though both had times of 18:11.1 on the 6K course. They recorded the sixth and seventh fastest times by a Villanova runner at the seldomly run shorter distance which usually only occurs in the first meet each year. The Wildcats last ran the Lehigh Invitational in 2022.
Sophomore
Jack Fenlon (Laois, Ireland) and junior
Nick Sullivan (Middletown, N.J.) each tallied top 10 finishes. Fenlon came in eighth with a time of 18:21.6 and Sullivan was two spots behind him in 10
th place with a time of 18:22.8. Junior
Ryan Beegle (Chatham, N.J.) made his Villanova debut and posted a time of 20:13.4. He joins the Wildcats this year after starting his collegiate career at Boston College.
Friday's meet was Villanova's first of three races at Lehigh this season. The team will return to Bethlehem for the Paul Short Run on October 3, while the site is also host to the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on November 14. It will be the second time in the last three years that Lehigh is the site of the regional meet.
