VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Villanova women's swimming and diving team will host Richmond on Friday, Jan. 16, at the Villanova Swim Complex. Diving is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with swimming following immediately after.
Last season, the Wildcats defeated the Spiders 165-135.
Katie Vaughan delivered strong performances on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards, highlighted by a first place in the 1-meter with a personal-best score of 250.50.
Alana Leen and
Meghan Tiernan each posted two wins in the victory. Leen captured first place in the 100 Back (56.78) and 200 Back (2:00.04), while Tiernan won the 200 Fly (2:04.56) and the 500 Free (5:04.47).
The next day, women's swimming and diving will welcome James Madison University on Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Villanova Swim Complex. Diving is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., followed by swimming.
Last season, the Wildcats fell narrowly to the Dukes 147-153.
Peri Gaguzis earned a first-place finish in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:24.04.
Alana Leen also claimed two victories, touching first in the 200 Back (2:01.90) and the 100 Back (57.22).
Annie Honkamp captured first place in the 200 Breast, posting a time of 2:21.39, while
Anna Farley won the 200 Fly in 2:03.86.
On the boards,
Alexa Fegley represented the Wildcats with a third-place finish, scoring 272.33 to set a new personal best.
Up next, the Villanova men's team will host Seton Hall on Jan. 22, with action set to begin at 5 p.m.
