VILLANOVA, Pa. – Senior forward Tafara Gapare has elected to depart the Men's Basketball program and will not return, it was announced today.
 
Gapare, a native of Wellington, New Zealand, joined the Wildcats last summer after spending the 2024-25 season at the University of Maryland. The 6-9 forward appeared in nine games for the Wildcats in 2025-26, averaging 16.4 minutes, 2.9 points and 2.9 rebounds per contest. He last saw game action in a 76-66 overtime victory at Wisconsin on Dec. 19 in Milwaukee.
 
Villanova (12-2 overall, 3-0 BIG EAST) hosts Creighton (9-6 overall, 3-1 BIG EAST) on Wednesday at Finneran Pavilion (7:30 p.m.).
