VILLANOVA, Pa. — Former Villanova women's basketball standout Laura Kurz has been selected for induction into the Philadelphia Big 5 Hall of Fame, recognizing her outstanding collegiate career and contributions to Philadelphia-area basketball.

This year's class will be recognized during the Men's Toyota Big 5 Classic at the Xfinity Mobile Arena on Saturday, December 5, and the Women's Big 5 Classic at The Palestra on Sunday, December 6.

Kurz enjoyed an exceptional two-season career on the Main Line after transferring from Duke University. As a senior in 2008-09, she earned unanimous First Team All-Big East honors, was named Big 5 Player of the Year and received recognition as a finalist for the Naismith Award. She led Villanova in scoring and rebounding while helping guide the Wildcats to the NCAA Tournament.

In addition to being a standout player for the Wildcats, Kurz also served as an assistant coach at Villanova from 2015-2020.

Kurz joins fellow inductees Ashley Gale of La Salle, Cindy Griffin of Saint Joseph's, Shey Peddy of Temple and Zack Rosen of Penn in this Hall of Fame class.
