NEW YORK, N.Y. — The Villanova University women's basketball team has been picked to finish second in the 2026-27 BIG EAST Conference preseason predicted order of finish, as the league announced its preseason honors Thursday at the 2026 BIG EAST Women's Basketball Media Day in New York.
The Wildcats also placed two players on the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team in junior guard
Jasmine Bascoe (Milton, Ontario) and sophomore guard
Kennedy Henry (Hockessin, Del.).
Bascoe enters her junior season following another standout campaign in 2025-26. The two-time first team All-BIG EAST selection averaged 18.9 points and 4.0 rebounds per game while handing out 158 assists. She led the BIG EAST in both scoring and assists last season and enters the 2026-27 campaign with 1,175 career points through her first two seasons.
Bascoe has also demonstrated a consistent ability to produce in high-scoring performances, entering the season with 23 career games of scoring 20 points or more.
Henry earned a spot on both the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team and BIG EAST All-Defensive Team following an impressive freshman season. She averaged 9.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while recording 86 assists and 72 steals.
Henry's 72 steals established a Villanova freshman class record for steals in a single season. She will enter her sophomore campaign as one of the Wildcats' top returning guards and defensive leaders.
