SAVANNAH, Ga. — The Villanova golf team is set to open its spring slate at the Savannah Intercollegiate Saturday. 

Coming off a successful fall run which saw the 'Cats win the Big 5 Championship Nov. 6 with Matt Zerfass taking the individual title, the team is set for a competitive schedule of tournaments in spring. 

Villanova finished tied for fourth in the 2024-25 BIG EAST Championship April 26-28, 2025 and had its season-best finish of third at the Abarta Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational April 6-7, 2025. 

The 'Cats will compete with Youngstown State, West Georgia, Morehead State, Purdue Fort Wayne, Iona, Longwood, Fairfield, Creighton, Sacred Heart, Bradley, Colgate, Queens, Dartmouth, IU Indianapolis, Lehigh and Bowling Green in the tournament. 

The 54-hole tournament will play 36 holes Saturday before closing out with 18 on Sunday.A shotgun start will be utilized. 

Ryan Pamer will hit off the tee first for Villanova, coming off an all-BIG EAST Second Team selection. 

Matt Zerfass will hit second after picking up his first career victory Nov. 6 at the Big 5 Championship. 

Vibhav Alokam hits third. The sophomore averaged 74.40 in his debut campaign last season. 

Newcomer to the 'Cats Brockton English will be fourth off the tee, coming to Villanova after four years at Drexel. 

Nathan Marion rounds out the lineup. Marion has averaged 76.71 across his two-year career on the Main Line. 

Luke Leonard, Ian Love, Joshua Lavely and Peter Barros will compete in the tournament as individuals.
