Moore Named BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week; Torres Earns Weekly Honor Roll Recognition

NEW YORK - Villanova women's lacrosse collected two BIG EAST weekly honors on Monday afternoon, as Mary Moore was named BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week and Elena Torres earned a spot on the conference's weekly honor roll.

Moore, a redshirt sophomore from Annapolis, Maryland, totaled five goals and two assists across two games to earn top midfielder honors. She opened the week with one goal, one assist and a caused turnover in Villanova's win over Saint Joseph's before scoring four goals and adding an assist, along with two draw controls, against Rutgers.

Torres, a redshirt junior from Tustin, California, registered six goals across the two contests for an honor roll spot. She tallied four goals and two assists in the victory over the Hawks and followed with two goals against Rutgers.

Moore, Torres and the Wildcats return to action this weekend to begin a three-game road stretch, starting Saturday at Binghamton. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
