For just the second time ever, Villanova women's lacrosse has a Midseason All-American as junior draw specialist Emma Verhoest was named an Honorable Mention on the Nike Lacrosse Midseason Media AA list.
Less than a week after setting the VU program record for career draw controls at 384, Verhoest joins previous record holder Caroline Curnal as the only Wildcats ever to achieve the All-America honor.
The 5-foot-11 junior leads the 'Cats with 106 draw controls on the year, already surpassing her freshman year total despite six fewer games played.
The Massachusetts native ranks seventh nationally for draw controls per game at 10.60 per contest, and she's powered the Wildcats to third in the nation for draw control percentage (65.7%).
Verhoest and the 'Cats have an important week ahead of them, taking on Connecticut on Wednesday afternoon before traveling to Milwaukee for a Holy Saturday matchup at Marquette.
