CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—One day after posting a personal best time in the 400 meter hurdles, sophomore sprinter
Liam Gluck (Beavercreek, Ohio) had another strong result on Saturday afternoon as he led a group of seven Villanova athletes in the 400 meters as the Virginia Challenge wrapped up. Gluck recorded a time of 48.88 in his first open 400 meters of the outdoor season. Competition in the 200 meters, the 400 meters and the discus made up the Wildcats docket for the day.
Gluck was followed by senior
Jimmy Milgie (Wildwood, Mo.) who won his heat in 48.94. The team's depth in the sprints was on display this weekend as Villanova has now had 11 different runners compete in the 400 meters during the season. Senior
Luke Rakowitz (Dallas, Texas) posted a season best time of 49.11 and senior
Ronan O'Neill (Wilmette, Ill.) lowered his lifetime best to 49.28 while running in the same heat as Gluck.
Freshman
Andy Geiser (Aldie, Va.) crossed the finish line in 49.47 and was followed by junior
Matthew Griffin (Whippany, N.J.) with a time of 49.52 and senior
Sal Barretta (Whitestone, N.Y.) with a time of 49.58. In the only other track event of the day for the Wildcats, junior
Parker Turner (Los Angeles, Calif.) came in 10
th overall in the 200 meters with a time of 22.02.
Graduate student
Tristan Bolinsky (Gordon, Pa.) tallied a season best mark of 47.04 meters in the discus. His top mark of the day came on his first of three throws in the first of three flights.
