CHESTER, Pa.—Senior middle distance runner
Sean Donoghue (Dublin, Ireland) lowered his lifetime best in the 1500 meters to 3:40.86 at the Widener Final Qualifier on Monday evening. It is the first time in two years that Donoghue has run the metric equivalent of a sub-four-minute mile in an individual race, and he lowered his PR in the 1500 meters from 3:41.02 during the 2024 outdoor season.
Donoghue finished first in Monday night's race and was one of two Villanova athletes in action at the Widener meet. Junior middle distance runner
Ryan Beegle (Chatham, N.J.) recorded a time of 1:52.55 in the 800 meters.
