NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - Junior draw specialist Emma Verhoest earned IWLCA Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team honors following another dominant season for Villanova. She is one of 128 athletes to receive this honor.
Verhoest started all 15 games this season and scored her first career goal in a win at Binghamton.
A difference-maker in the draw circle, she set Villanova's career draw control record as a junior, totaling 423 for her career, including 145 this season. She also established a new single-game program record with 19 draw controls against Vermont.
The Newton, Massachusetts native was a unanimous BIG EAST First Team selection and earned BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week honors once this season. She led the conference with 9.67 draw controls per game, and recorded seven of the BIG EAST's top 10 single-game draw control performances this year.
