Kate Borton (Auckland, New Zealand) ran her fastest 400 meters in a Villanova singlet to highlight the second and final day of competition at the Larry Ellis Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Borton, junior sprinter

Gina Smith (Pittsburgh, Pa.) were all in action for the Wildcats at Weaver Stadium.
Borton finished second in her heat of the 400 meters in 57.15 to lower her season best time by a full second. She had previously run 58.15 in her outdoor season opener at the Danny Curran Invitational, while her previous top time for her first year of collegiate competition was a mark of 57.93 recorded indoors in the preliminary heats at the BIG EAST Championships.
Later on Saturday afternoon, Olakunle posted a time of 12.68 in the 100 meters and Smith had a distance of 11.56 meters in the triple jump. Olakunle was third in her heat and Smith recorded her best jump of the day on her second of three attempts.
