VILLANOVA, Pa. – For a second-straight season, Villanova Water Polo found itself with 19 All-Academic honorees, as announced by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) last week.
 
Along with the individual awards, Villanova also had the second-highest team GPA at 3.76. The 19 honorees match the program-best that was set by last year's squad.
 
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete's head coach must be a member of the ACWPC, while the athlete must attain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher. Divided into three teams based on cumulative grade point average (GPA), 434 athletes garnered Outstanding (4.00-3.71), 312 Superior (3.70-3.41) and 181 Excellent (3.40-3.20) recognition.
 
Of the players recognized, 14 were named to the Outstanding Team while five were tabbed as Superior honorees. The entire list of honors can be found on the Collegiate Water Polo website.
