VILLANOVA, Pa. — The Villanova field hockey program, under head coach Joanie Milhous, entering her 32nd season at the helm, has announced its 2026 schedule.
The 'Cats will play their seven home games this season at Snell Field Hockey Field at Ursinus as their new field hockey complex at Villanova's Cabrini Campus continues to be worked on.
Villanova will open its season in a neutral site game against a familiar foe in Delaware at Buckley Field in Philadelphia on August 28. Both teams have matched up each of the last three seasons that included two exhibition games.
The team continues its road trip with two inner state matchups against La Salle on August 30 at the Proving Grounds in Conshohocken before traveling up the State College for a matchup against Penn State on September 4.
VU will then see its first home action of the season in a pair of matches against New Haven on September 6 followed by a head-to-head with Queens University of Charlotte on September 11.
The 'Cats head back on the road with a contest against Lehigh on September 13 before starting BIG EAST play at UConn on September 18.
Villanova will return home for a faceoff with Drexel on September 20 before facing two BIG EAST opponents in Temple and Georgetown. The battle with the Owls will take place on September 25 and will serve as the team's annual Whiteout game while the match against Georgetown on October 2 will be the team's Pink Out.
A quick road trip to Penn on October 4 and Old Dominion on October 9 follow the homeslate before the 'Cats will host its senior day against Hofstra on October 11 at Noon.
VU will finish out its road schedule with three straight against St. Joseph's on October 18, Providence on October 23 and Wagner on October 25. Before concluding the regular season with a home contest against Liberty on October 30.
Temple is hosting this year's BIG EAST in Philadelphia at Howarth Field, welcoming the league's top four finishers on Friday, November 6 before the conference championship on the 8th.
