HAMILTON, N.Y. — For the eighth consecutive season, Villanova's golf team will tee off its fall tournament schedule at the Alex Lagowitz Memorial, hosted by Colgate at the Seven Oaks Golf Course Sept. 5-6.
The Wildcats had a strong start to the season in Hamilton last year, placing third out of 14 teams.
The Event
The Alex Lagowitz Memorial is a two-day event consisting of three rounds totaling 54 holes. The first two rounds and 36 holes will be played on Saturday, and the final 18 will be played on Sunday. There will be a shotgun start at 9 a.m. both days.
The Course
Seven Oaks is a public, 18-hole course that was opened in 1965. It is 7,125 yards long with a par of 72. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the course in the 1930s, and it hosted the 1977 NCAA National Tournament, the 1990 Ben Hogan Tour stop in central New York (now known as the Korn Ferry Tour), and the 2010 Patriot League Championship.
The course was named the top Public Golf Course in New York in the 2026 GolfPass Golfers' Choice Awards.
Wildcats Lineup
Villanova head coach
James Wilkes' first lineup of the season consists of four returners and one newcomer to the team, as well as one individual competitor.
The first spot in the lineup will feature senior
Nathan Marion. Marion is looking to build upon a successful junior season, where he lowered his average score by half a stroke to 76.56. He makes his return to the Alex Lagowitz Memorial after placing 29th in the event in 2024.
Freshman
Evan Rohde is the lone newcomer competing for Villanova, teeing off in the second spot. Rohde comes in after a successful high school career, as he was selected as All-Southwest Preparatory Conference three different times, and has the SPC Tournament individual record.
Junior
Vibhav Alokam tees off third. Alokam has been a consistent and integral piece in the Wildcat lineup over his two years with the team. He has appeared in 23 of 25 tournaments while averaging 74.33 in that span.
Sophomore
Luke Leonard follows. He is competing at this event for the second time, as he placed 27th the year prior. Leonard is coming into his second season after a freshman campaign which saw the Florida native shoot an average of 77.65.
Junior
Ian Love rounds out the scoring five. Love enters his third season with the Wildcats, where he shoots an average of 79.17.
Cameron Besaw will compete as individual. The junior placed 58th as a freshman at this tournament in 2024. He made his lone appearance of the season last year as an individual at the Wildcat/Fazio Invite.
