NEW YORK, N.Y. -  Villanova junior Alex Yagudayev (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was tabbed by both the BIG EAST and the Philly Soccer Six as their goalkeeper of the Week.

In addiiton, junior back Lorenzo Avalos was tabbed Philly Soccer Six's Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. Avalos scored the goal in Nova's 1-0 win over Fordham on Sept. 1.

BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Alex Yagudayev, Villanova, Jr., GK (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Yagudayev registered a league-high 19 saves while allowing just one goal over 180 minutes. He made 13 saves in Villanova's 1-0 shutout victory over Fordham before adding six saves against FDU. The junior finished the week with a .950 save percentage and a 0.50 goals-against average to pick up his second BE Goalkeeper of the Week honor of the young season.

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Alvaro Maneiro, Providence, Jr., M (Madrid, Spain)
Maneiro totaled three goals and six points as Providence went 2-0-1 across three matches. He highlighted the week with a two-goal performance in the Friars' 3-1 road victory at Harvard and finished the week second among BIG EAST players in both goals and points.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Matthew Reed, Creighton, Sr., D (Felton, Del.)
Reed scored four goals, including two game-winners, as Creighton went 3-0 and outscored its opponents 11-1. The senior defender scored twice in a 5-0 road win at Tulsa before adding a goal in victories over Gonzaga and Santa Clara. Reed logged 197 minutes during the week as the Bluejays posted two shutouts and allowed just one goal.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Carter Tavares, Creighton, Fr., M (Toronto, Canada)
Tavares recorded a goal and three assists for five points during Creighton's 3-0 week. He opened the week with a goal and two assists in a 5-0 victory at Tulsa before adding an assist in Monday's 4-1 win over Santa Clara. The freshman started all three matches and logged 142 minutes.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Amari Thompson, Creighton, 5th Yr., GK (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Thompson posted consecutive shutouts in wins over Tulsa and Gonzaga, making six saves without allowing a goal over 180 minutes. He made four saves while facing 15 shots at Tulsa before adding two saves against Gonzaga.

Luca Iaccino, DePaul, Jr., F (Rolling Meadows, Ill.)
Iaccino scored twice in DePaul's 3-0 victory over Chicago State, netting his two goals within two minutes of each other to give the Blue Demons insurance. The brace pushed his season total to three goals.

Mitchell Baker, Georgetown, Jr., F (Melbourne, Australia)
Baker totaled two goals and an assist against a pair of nationally ranked opponents. He scored twice in Georgetown's 3-0 victory over then-No. 10/6 Oregon State before adding an assist in a 3-2 setback at No. 2/2 Maryland.

Devin Armstrong, Seton Hall, Gr., GK (Palm Harbor, Fla.)
Armstrong made six saves and posted a clean sheet in Seton Hall's 1-0 road victory over Rutgers. He made a pair of key saves in the final 10 minutes to preserve the win and earn his second consecutive shutout.

Ekene Okeke, Xavier, Sr., D (Houston, Texas)
Okeke scored twice, including the game-winning goal, in Xavier's 3-2 road victory at Northwestern. He then played all 90 minutes as the Musketeers shut out Bowling Green, 2-0, to complete a 2-0 week.
