Villanova Career: Played for the Wildcats during the 2020 and 2021 seasons … Appeared in 28 games with 27 starts and was a .228 (21-for-92) hitter with a .330 on-base percentage and a .391 slugging percentage … Had one double, one triple and four home runs in 106 plate appearances … Totaled 12 runs scored and 13 runs batted in while drawing 10 walks, being hit by a pitch four times and striking out 32 times … During the abbreviated 2020 season he led the BIG EAST with a .595 slugging percentage while playing in 12 of the team’s 14 games … Hit three home runs in just 49 plate appearances and batted .333 (14-for-42) … Named a Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American for the 2020 season and was the Wildcats first player in six years and 10th overall to be a Freshman All-American … Named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team his freshman year and was a member of the Spring 2020 Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.
 
2021: Started each of the 16 games he played in during the season … Went 7-for-50 (.140) at the plate with a .246 on-base percentage in 57 plate appearances … Had a double and a home run among his seven hits and finished the year with four runs scored, three runs batted in, four walks and three hit by pitch … Struck out 14 times … Went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a walk against Stony Brook in an 8-3 win … All but one of his starts came as the designated hitter … Made one start at catcher against Delaware on March 14 and had eight putouts in an 11-10 victory … Also had one of his best days of the year at the plate in that game, hitting a solo home run while getting hit by a pitch and scoring two runs … Started both ends of doubleheaders against Hofstra on March 7 and Penn on March 27.
 
2020: Named a Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American … Was the Wildcats first player in six years and 10th overall to earn Freshman All-America accolades … Named the BIG EAST and Big 5 Player of the Week once during the season … Despite a shortened season led all BIG EAST batters with a .595 slugging percentage … Led the team with a .333 batting average and three home runs … Appeared in 12 games with 11 starts and slashed .333/.429/.595 while posting a 1.024 OPS … Went 14-for-42 at the plate with eight runs scored, 10 runs batted in and one triple … Drew six walks, was hit by a pitch once and struck out 18 times … Made his first start of the season as the designated hitter against Maine and went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI in the contest … Hit his first collegiate home run against Northeastern and also homered in wins over Saint Louis and Bucknell … Went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, the home run and a walk in the Saint Louis win … Tripled and scored in the home opener against NJIT … Started nine times as the designated hitter and twice in left field.
 
Avon Old Farms: Earned three varsity letters in baseball and one in squash … As a senior on the baseball team hit five home runs and broke the school’s single season walk record with 22 bases on balls, surpassing the record held by Major League outfielder George Springer … Named the Most Improved Player on the baseball team as a senior and on the squash team as a junior … Achieved Honor Roll status academically as a junior and a senior.
 
Personal: Born 11/4/99 in Greenwich, Conn. … One of three children of Greg and Linda Latrenta … Has an older stepbrother, Alex and a younger sister, Alex … Grandfather played Major League Baseball for the St. Louis Browns and uncle was a Hall of Fame outfielder for St. John’s who went on to play three seasons for the Yankees … Enjoys skiing, surfing and playing golf with his father in his spare time … Considers himself a movie guru … Also loves his two dogs, Rex and Sam … Chose to attend Villanova for the modern style campus, the baseball program and the coaching staff … Noted the school’s strong reputation with alumni and the future opportunities the school would open for him.
