Villanova Career: Comes to Villanova as a senior transfer from Seton Hall… He appeared in 14 games of which he started 13 and came in as relief for one… Logged 86.0 innings while striking out 77 batter with a 3.98 ERA … Has allowed 82 hits and 49 runs (38 earned) while issuing 30 walks, throwing four wild pitches, issuing two balks, hitting seven batters, and issuing four sacrifice flies … Has allowed seven home runs, 13 doubles, and one triple to 374 batters faced with a .250 batting average against him… Named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll three times on February 28, March 7, and March 14…  Named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team… A member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in his Spring semester.
 
Previous to Villanova Career: Newcomer to the Villanova pitching staff in 2022 who pitched the past three seasons at BIG EAST member Seton Hall … As a member of the Pirates made 27 appearances on the mound with five starts … Over 52.0 innings of work opposing batters hit .240 against him and he averaged 9.2 strikeouts per nine innings … Gave up just 11 extra-base hits to 237 batters faced … In his 52.0 innings pitched gave up 44 hits and 34 runs (28 earned) while walking 35 and striking out 53 … Surrendered just three home runs … Had a 2-5 record with a 4.85 ERA spanning the 2019-21 seasons.
 
2022 (Villanova): The senior transfer became a reliable pitcher when called into action … Pitched 14 games overall with 13 game starts and one relief appearances… Went 3-7 with an ERA of 3.98 across 86.0 innings… Averaged 8.06 strikeouts per nine inning… Gave up 82 hits while striking out 77, held opponents to a .250 batting average against him… Yielded 49 runs (38 earned) while issuing 30 walks… Allowed seven home runs, 13 doubles, one triple, four sacrifice flies, and five sacrifice bunts to 374 batters faced… Issued four wild pitches, two balks, and hit seven batters… He had six putouts, 19 assists, only two errors, and a fielding percentage of .926 on 27 total chances… Gave up three or less earned runs or fewer in 10 of 14 games he appeared in… He pitched 5 innings or more in 13 of the 14 games he played in… Season high of nine strikeouts against Georgia State on March 5.
 
2021 (Seton Hall): Logged eight appearances with two starts and was 0-2 on the year … Pitched 13 1/3 innings and was charged with 14 earned runs on 14 hits while walking 11 and striking out 11 … Started against Hofstra and pitched a season-high five innings during which he gave up just one run on four hits while striking out seven … Pitched 2 2/3 innings against Florida Atlantic and logged two innings versus St. John’s … Worked a scoreless inning against BIG EAST champion Connecticut and appeared twice in the series against the Huskies during the final weekend of the regular season.
 
2020 (Seton Hall): Made three appearances spanning five scoreless innings pitched before the season was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic … Worked three scoreless innings to earn the win against Illinois in the second game of the season … Pitched 1 1/3 innings against Liberty … Notched two outs at USC.
 
2019 (Seton Hall): Pitched in 16 games with three starts as a freshman … Went 1-3 with a 3.74 ERA spanning 33 2/3 innings pitched … Gave up 28 hits and held opposing batters to a .239 average against him with just six extra-base hits and two home runs allowed to 153 batters raced … Yielded 20 runs (14 earned) while walking 21 and striking out 38 … Averaged 10.2 strikeouts per nine innings … Started against Fairleigh Dickinson on March 27 and pitched six scoreless innings of two-hit ball to earn his first collegiate victory in an 8-1 decision … His six innings of work and eight strikeouts that day were both season highs … Pitched three scoreless innings with five strikeouts and just one hit allowed against Villanova … Made six appearances against BIG EAST opponents and had a 2.19 ERA and a .205 opponent batting average in 12 1/3 innings pitched.
 
Club Baseball: Played for the Diamond Jacks and compiled a 0.25 ERA for the 2017 season.
 
Sparta High School: Earned three varsity letters as a pitcher, third baseman and center fielder … Three-time all-county performer and two-time All-Herald selection … Had a career 2.10 ERA as a pitcher and batted .380 as a position player … Achieved Honor Roll status academically all four years … Inducted to the Spanish National Honor Society.
 
Personal: Born 8/5/99 in Pompton Plains, N.J. … One of four children of Jack and Doreen Patten … Has three siblings: Savannah (26), Jack (24) and Brett (16) … Enjoys playing golf, basketball and volleyball in his spare time … Attended Seton Hall from 2018-21 and is currently a senior at Villanova majoring in Finance … Chose to come to Villanova for the school’s culture and competitive atmosphere.
