Following its second draw of the season, Villanova (2-0-2) heads down to Fairfax, Va. on Sunday to face George Mason (0-5) at 1 p.m. at George Mason Stadium.

Thursday saw the ‘Cats leave Bucknell with a 1-1 draw. Makayla Stadler scored her third goal in two games, finding the net just 52 seconds into to the second half. That goal marked the eighth for the Wildcats this season and brought her to a team-high six points on the year. The ’Cats are tied for the top scoring offense among BIG EAST teams at 2.00 and are the top team with 2.75 assists per game and 17.75 shots per game. Jackie Richards now leads BIG EAST players with 4.75 shots per game, a mark that lands her at seventh nationally, totaling 19 attempts on the season. Her 2.25 shots on goal per game are also a conference-high.

George Mason is still in search of its first win of the season, falling in each of its first five games via shutouts by a combined 18-0 margin. It has been over a year since the Patriots last won a match, taking down Howard 3-1 on August 25, 2022, the lone win for the group that season. Since then, the team has gone 0-14-6. Head Coach Manya Puppione's team welcomed 14 freshmen ahead of this season. The Patriots return 23 student-athletes from last year's roster, 18 of those being sophomores. The sophomore duo of forward Sophie Davidson and midfielder Rachel Eberly lead the Patriots with four shot attempts through five games; Eberly leads the team with three of her shots landing on frame. Sophomore Selamawit Caldart and freshman Ginny Fronk have split time in net for the Patriots with Fronk starting in four of five appearances. The freshman leads the A-10 with 30 saves, placing her at 10th nationally.
