Villanova Women's Basketball embarks on its first foreign trip since 2015 this week as the ‘Cats head to Italy from August 1-10. The Wildcats will play in three international games while making stops around the country to take in the sights and history that Italy has to offer.

During their time abroad, the Wildcats will visit numerous Italian cities, including Rome, Florence, Venice and Milan. Each stop will come with tours of some of the greatest landmarks of each area including the Colosseum, the Vatican, the Trevi Fountain, the Basilica of Santo Spirito, Lake Como and much more.

The Wildcats have gone on a number of international trips over the years, but this will serve as the first of the Denise Dillon era and is the program's first return to Italy since the 2015-16 season. Villanova has compiled an 18-0 record all-time in foreign play. The 'Cats will take on three teams from three different countries while on their 10-day trip, facing the Spanish All-Star Team on August 5, ASD Basketball Sisters (Italy) on August 7 and Riga Stradins University (Latvia) on August 8.

Day 10: Arrivederci, Italia

Goodbye had to happen at some point…

With an over eight-hour flight from Milan to New York City, the Villanova Women's Basketball team brought its 2024 Italy Trip to a close. The week was a full one for the 'Cats, going 2-1 in their games on the week and making stops in four major cities along the way. With those stops, the team visited six cities, traveling by planes, trains, buses and water taxi throughout the week. The week was filled with bonding moments, opportunities for learning about new cultures and sights. So many people made this trip possible and run as smooth as could be behind the scenes, including the staff, families, Villanova administration and, of course our tour guides, Marco and Ana, and bus drivers! Thanks to everyone involved for all you did for our team, staff and families.
