Villanova Career: Plays terrific defense at both middle infield positions and has the makings of a prototypical Wildcats batter who can work deep into a count and find ways to get on base … Played in 135 games with 129 starts … Owns a career .348 on-base percentage in 464 plate appearances … Has batted .226 with a slugging percentage of .366 … Has walked 71 times and was hit by pitch 18 times … Career totals include 76 runs scored, 105 hits, 74 runs batted in, 22 doubles, 13 homeruns, and 19 stolen bases … Has a .945 fielding percentage with 189 putouts, a whopping 273 assists … Two-time BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll … Three-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team … Six-time member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

2024: Played in 49 games with 47 starts … Recorded 41 hits on 180 at bats including eight doubles, one triple, six home runs and 24 RBI … Batting average of .228, slugging percentage of .383 and on base percentage of .349 … Defensively had a .938 fielding percentage with 77 putouts and 106 assists … One of his best games came on May 3 against Iona where he went 3-5 with four RBI and two home runs.

2023: Playing in 18 games where he started all 18 … Recorded 19 hits, one triple, six home runs, and 17 RBIs … Had a .292 batting average on 65 at bats, and a .600 slugging percentage … Defensively had a .984 fielding percentage with 30 putouts, 10 double plays, and 33 assists … Had a season high four hits on four at bats with four RBIs against Rider on March 17 … He missed most of the season with an injury.

2022: Another year as a reliable starter in the middle infield and more developed hitter on the offensive end … Played in 41 games with 40 starts out of the 49-game season … A leader of the team tied for second with three stolen bases and was a 3-6 trying to steal … Drew 18 walks and was hit by a pitch three times in just 143 plate appearances … Had a .309 on-base percentage while batting .210 overall and a slugging percentage of .268 … He had 15 runs scored, 24 runs batted in, 1 homerun, and the team’s number three leader in double with eight on the season … Tied for the team’s second leader with six sacrifice bunts … Defensively he had a 0.931 fielding percentage with 59 putouts, 15 double plays and was the team’s leader in assists with 102 on 173 total chances … Yielded 12 errors … Had a season high of three hits and four runs batted in against Saint Joseph’s on March 15 … He played 20 games where he had two putouts or more and played 21 games where he had three assists or more.

2021: Emerged as a dependable starter in the middle infield for his strong defensive work and on-base skills … Played in 27 games with 24 starts as a freshman, including 11 starts at shortstop and 10 at second base … Led the team with eight stolen bases and was a perfect 8-for-8 trying to steal … Drew 11 walks and was hit by a pitch six times in just 99 plate appearances … Had a .330 on-base percentage while batting .182 (14-for-77) overall with 11 runs scored, nine runs batted in and four doubles … Tied for the team lead with five sacrifice bunts … Hit .294 (5-for-17) against left-handed pitching … Had four multi-hit games on the year, with all four coming in a span of his final 10 starts … Over that 10-game stretch from May 2-22 batted .265 (9-34) with seven runs scored, two doubles and four stolen bases … Began the stretch in the series finale against BIG EAST runner-up Xavier when he was 2-for-3 with three runs scored, two RBI, two hit by pitch and a stolen base in a 12-5 victory which clinched a series win … Had two hits and two runs scored against Connecticut on May 15 … In the final series of the season against St. John’s went 5-for-12 (.417) with two runs, two RBI, a double and a stolen base in three games … Named to the weekly BIG EAST Honor Roll following that series … As a defensive player committed just two errors in 70 chances on the year (.971 fielding percentage), including 29 putouts, 39 assists and two errors.

Silver Creek High School: Earned four varsity letters in baseball as a shortstop and a pitcher … Also was a guard/forward on the basketball team … Was an all-conference selection as a sophomore after earning honorable mention all-conference recognition as a freshman … Batted .400 with a .923 fielding percentage as a freshman and hit .429 with 22 runs batted in as a sophomore … As a junior batted .384 with seven doubles, three home runs and 24 runs batted in … Earned first team All-Academic honors as a junior … Inducted to the National Honor Society and the National Junior Honor Society.

Personal: Born 2/3/02 in Kirkland, Wash. … Older of two sons of Michael Hassert and Vilma Nitollama… Has a younger brother, Connor (17) … Hobbies include basketball, surfing, skiing, going to the beach and spending time with family … Chose to attend Villanova because he fell in love with the campus, liked the baseball coaching staff and felt good about the atmosphere being built within the baseball program at a school where he would get an outstanding education … Has yet to declare a major.
