Wilson joined Villanova in 2026 after six seasons as a professional catcher and infielder in the Minor Leagues (2019–2025) within the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Diego Padres organizations. Reaching the Double-A and Triple-A levels across six affiliates, he developed versatility behind the plate as a primary catcher and at third base, while also bringing international experience from playing winter ball for the Colombian Professional Baseball League in Barranquilla, Colombia. Since 2020, Wilson has focused on player development as a Hitting, Catching, and Strength & Conditioning Coach with Northstar Baseball Club, alongside private instruction that helped guide multiple high school catchers to the Division I level.
Before his professional career, Wilson was a standout at the University of Minnesota (2017–2019), where he served as a two-year starting catcher and earned First-Team All-Big Ten honors in 2019. Recognized for his leadership and growth, he was voted the team's Richard "Chief" Siebert MVP as a junior and the George Thomas Most Improved Player as a sophomore, while also earning Academic All-Big Ten recognition. Wilson played two summer collegiate seasons for the Willmar Stingers in the Northwoods League before being selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 16th Round of the 2019 MLB Draft.
Wilson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota (2021), where he compiled a 3.6 cumulative GPA and earned Dean’s List honors in three semesters.
