Biography

On May, Jr.: A strong offensive player who swung the bat well … Solid defender at all three outfield positions … Had a strong and accurate throwing arm … Terrific all-around athlete who contributed to the team in a variety of ways.

Career: Played in 52 games with eight starts in three seasons, while battling injuries for part of his career … Had four hits and four runs scored in 36 at bats with four walks, one hit by pitch and 18 strikeouts … In the field had 14 putouts and one assist without committing an error.

2016: Did not appear in any games.

2015: Appeared in 18 games with two starts … Went 3-for-12 (.250) with two runs scored, two walks and five strikeouts … Had a .357 on-base percentage … Delivered a pinch-hit single and scored a run in the season opener against North Carolina State … Also had pinch hits against both Notre Dame and Niagara … Played seven games in the outfield and had two putouts in his only two chances … Started at designated hitter against Chicago State and in center field against Philadelphia University.

2014: Appeared in seven games with one start early in the season before missing time with an injury … Went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts … Recorded three putouts and one assist in the field … Started in left field during the opening series of the season at Charleston Southern and had a putout and an outfield assist in the series finale.

2013: Saw action in 27 games and made five starts … Went 1-for-20 (.050) at the plate with two walks, one hit by pitch and two runs scored … Struck out 10 times … Had two sacrifice bunts … Pinch ran and scored the winning run in the 10th inning of a 4-3 win over Marist … Had nine putouts in the outfield; BIG EAST: Played in 10 conference games with one start … Went 1-for-7 (.143) at the plate with three strikeouts … Made his first conference start against Connecticut … Singled against Louisville for his first hit of the year … Had two putouts in the outfield.

Tatnall School: Earned four varsity letters in both baseball as an outfielder and football as a wide receiver and defensive end … Also received one varsity letter in basketball as a forward … Earned first team all-conference honors in baseball all four years and was also a two-time all-state selection his junior and senior years … As a football player earned first team all-conference accolades two times at both wide receiver and defensive end.

Oldest of three children of Derrick and Alicia May … Has two younger siblings, Donovan and Devon … Father and grandfather, Dave May, each played in the major leagues and brother, Donovan, also played baseball at Villanova … Mother played collegiate volleyball at Delaware State … Also has an uncle who played college baseball at Delaware … Hobbies included lifting weights, bowling, swimming, snowboarding, reading and watching scary movies … Chose to attend Villanova for the opportunity to grow as a student-athlete … Criminology major.
