Jonathan May serves as an assistant athletic trainer at Villanova University, joining the staff in February of 2024. He functions as the head athletic trainer for baseball with secondary athletic healthcare support to the cheer and football teams. 

May has built a well-rounded resume and skill set during his 23-year career in the industry. His experience includes time as an athletic trainer at the high school level, in post-rehab settings, and, for the bulk of his career, as an athletic trainer with the Philadelphia Phillies minor league system from 2006-2019.  Prior to joining the Villanova sports medicine staff, he most recently served as assistant athletic trainer at Swarthmore College.

In addition to being a certified athletic trainer, he holds several other certifications, including: strength and conditioning specialist, performance enhancement specialist, corrective exercise specialist, speed specialist, applied functional science and a precision nutrition level 1 coach.

May earned his bachelor of science degree in Athletic Training from Temple University and his master's degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from California University of Pennsylvania. 

May lives in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, with his wife Lindsay and their two cats Maggie and Stewart.
