Karlie Heistand begins her second season as an assistant coach for the Villanova Wildcats.

Heistand arrived at Villanova in 2018 after a four year standout career at the University of Connecticut.  There she was a part of two national championship teams and four final four teams.  During her senior season she was named a NFHCA Division I All-American and to the NCAA Division I Championship All-Tournament Team.  Heistand is currently a member of the United States National Development Team and previously was a part of the United States National U21 and U19 Team.

In 2019, Heistand was named to the US Women's National Team traveling roster for the U.S.Women's National Development Squad's tour of The Netherlands.

Heistand graduated in May of 2018 from UConn with a degree in Chemistry.  She was a four time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team and NFHCA Division I National Academic Team.
