Villanova: Dependable kicker with an accurate kicking leg … Will compete for the placekicking duties.
 
2021: Handled the placekicking duties in the home opener against Bucknell; Bucknell (9/11): Made 7-of-7 PATs in his first collegiate game action.
 
2020 (Spring 2021): Did not appear in any games.
 
La Salle Academy: Earned two varsity letters in tennis and one in football … Also played soccer, basketball, baseball and competed for the swim team … As a kicker on the football team scored 24 points and had 10+ touchbacks … Named his school’s Freshman Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2017 … As a senior was a National Merit Scholar … Inducted to the National Honor Society … Achieved First Honors with distinction academically every year.
 
Personal: Born 10/18/2001 in Providence, R.I. … Youngest of three children of Bruce and Trish Bartel … Siblings are Elizabeth (27) and Alida (24) … Hobbies include reading, playing tennis and golf, listening to music and playing trombone or bass guitar … Chose to attend Villanova for its academic and athletic opportunities … Noted that the university shared many of the same characteristics of his high school, including its Catholic values, strong sense of community, pride and tradition … Also liked that alumni spoke highly of Villanova … Plans to major in Mechanical Engineering.
