George Halcovage

George Halcovage, enters his 15th season on staff with the Wildcats.  George is a Two-Time NCAA National Champion, Four-Time NCAA Regional Champion, and has won Seven Big East Regular Season Championships and Five Big East Tournament Championships during his tenure.  Halcovage was elevated to the position of Associate Head Coach in June 2021.  In the 2021-22 season, George helped lead the Wildcats to a 30-8 record, which included a Big East Tournament Championship and a trip to the NCAA Final Four in New Orleans as the South Regional Champions.  He previously served in the positions of Graduate Assistant Coach, Video Coordinator, Director of Basketball Operations and Assistant Coach. 
 
Halcovage was a part of the Villanova staff that guided the Wildcats to the 2009 NCAA Final Four in Detroit. In 2010, he moved over to become the Video Coordinator.  He later was elevated to the role of Director of Basketball Operations and served in that capacity during the Wildcats' run to the 2016 NCAA national championship. In 2017-18, he was an Assistant Coach as the Wildcats posted a 36-4 record on their way to the NCAA National Championship. 

When former head coach Jay Wright announced his retirement in April 2022 it was announced that Halcovage would continue to serve in his role under new head coach Kyle Neptune. He assists with all facets of the Wildcats' program. 
 
Halcovage attended Nativity BVM High School in Pottsville, Pa and went on to play basketball at Babson College. In 2012 Halcovage earned his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Villanova University. He and his wife Lizzy were married in August 2021 and the couple makes its home in Conshohocken, Pa.
