Provided 17 points, five rebounds and stellar defense on Butler’s Michal Ajayi in an 85-67 win over the Bulldogs on Jan. 3 ... Added 12 points and six rebounds in his BIG EAST debut, a 64-56 win at Seton Hall on Dec. 23.

Named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Dec. 22 ...  Provided 15 points and six rebounds to a 76-66 win over Wisconsin on Dec. 19 ... Contributed eight points and four rebounds to a 79-61 win over Pittsburgh on Dec. 13 ... Added 12 points and three rebounds on Dec. 6 vs. Penn ... Rebounded from early foul trouble to finish with 12 points, seven boards and a blocked shot in an 89-75 win over ODU on Nov. 25 ... 2024-25 Overview  
St. Rose School: Played for former Wildcat Brian Lynch (1996-2000) … Averaged 17.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per outing as a senior while helping lead St. Rose to the New Jersey Class B Non-Public state title ..Contributed 14 points and nine rebounds to a 73-29 victory over Montclair Immaculata in the championship game at Jersey Mike’s Arena … Sparked his squad to a pair of wins at the 2024 Jordan Brand Classic in December 2023 … Helped lead St. Rose to its first Class B Non-Public School title in 19 years as a junior in 2022-23 … Averaged 14.8 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game.
 
Personal: Came to New Jersey in April 2022 from his native Belgium … Father Odell Hodge, who played collegiately at Old Dominion University, enjoyed a lengthy professional career in the National Basketball Association and Europe, eventually settling with his family in Belgium … Brother Jayden Hodge played alongside his older brother at St. Rose.
 
Kevin Willard: "Matt Hodge is a young man we recruited when he was in high school and we're really looking forward to having the chance to coach him at Villanova.Matt brings a great basketball IQ and terrific skills as a shooter and passer. He got stronger last season and saw up close what it takes to compete in the Big East. We're eager to begin working with Matt this summer."
