CAREER COLLEGIATE RESULTS

OLYMPIC TRIALS

Qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in the 1500 meters after recording a personal best time of 3:37.76 during the 2021 collegiate season … That was just outside of the automatic qualifying standard of 3:37.50 for the Olympic Trials and he was selected to the field just days before the first round heats of the 1500 meters were contested in Eugene, Ore. … Came in eighth in his heat with a time of 3:46.25 in the final race of his collegiate career.

2019: Became one of 10 Villanova runners to be a four-time Mid-Atlantic All-Region selection ... Also was a first team All-BIG EAST honoree for the fourth straight year ... Ran in four races during the season; Paul Short Run (10/5): Made his season debut at Lehigh and recorded a time of 24:14.0 over 8000 meters ... Finished second in the Wildcats lineup and was 54th overall in a field of nearly 400 runners; BIG EAST Championships (11/2): Helped lead Villanova to its first conference title in five years ... Finished sixth overall and was the Wildcats third runner across the finish line with a time of 25:47.3 ... Earned first team all-conference honors for the fourth time in his career ... Villanova won its seventh all-time BIG EAST cross country crown; NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional (11/15): Came in 13th overall at the regional meet to merit Mid-Atlantic All-Region accolades ... One of five Wildcats who placed among the top 13 finishers ... Was the Wildcats top runner five times during the season and came in second in the team lineup on one other occasion ; Main Line Invitational (9/14): Individual champion at the first meet of the season, where he ran the four-mile course in 19:27.7 and finished first at the meet for the third straight year ... Had a winning margin of 6.5 seconds and was named the BIG EAST Male Athlete of the Week for his performance; Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational (9/28): Led the team and came in 35th overall with a time of 23:51.8 over 8000 meters ... The time is the fifth-fastest ever by a Villanova runner at the four-mile distance; Paul Short Run (9/29): Finished atop the Villanova lineup for the second straight meet and was eighth overall in the gold race with a time of 23:45.3 over 8000 meters; Penn State National Open (10/13): Came in sixth overall in the race and posted a time of 25:24.1 over 5.2 miles; BIG EAST Championships (10/28): Finished third at the conference meet with at ime of 24:40.6 and earned first team All-BIG EAST recognition for the second straight year; NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional (11/10): Led the Wildcats and was the overall runner-up at the regional meet with a time of 30:31.7 over 10000 meters ... Was an all-region performer for the second consecutive season; NCAA Championships (11/18): In his debut at an NCAA national meet tallied a time of 30:25.2 and finished 69th in the 10000 meter national championship race.

2016: Earned first team All-BIG EAST and Mid-Atlantic All-Region honors in his first official collegiate season; Big 5 Invitational (9/9): Came in seventh with a time of 19:14.7 over 6000 meters in the season opener; Main Line Invitational (9/16): Tallied a first place finish with a winning time of 19:21.3 over four miles; Chile Pepper Festival (10/1): Came in 26th overall with a time of 24:24.2 over 8000 meters; Penn State National (10/14): Came in 23rd overall and posted a time of 25:34 on the 5.2-mile course; BIG EAST Championships (10/28): Finished 10th in the conference meet at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx ... Recorded a time of 25:03.3 and earned first team All-BIG EAST accolades; NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional (11/11): Came in 13th at the regional meet and had a time of 31:07.8 over 10000 meters ... 2015: Ran four races as an unattached runner during the season; Big 5 Invitational (9/11): Recorded a time of 19:02.2 over 6000 meters and was the runner-up in the race; Main Line Invitational (9/18): Came in third with a time of 19:30 over four miles; Paul Short Run (10/2): Ran in the open race and finished sixth with a time of 25:07 over 8000 meters; Haverford Invitational (10/23): Recorded a first place finish and a winning time of 19:51.8 in the four-mile race.

2021: Camel City Invitational (2/20): Competed as an unattached runner in the 3000 meters on the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. ... Recorded a personal best time of 7:52.89 which is the fifth-fastest mark recorded indoors by any Villanova runner during the collegiate season ... Lowered his previous PR in the 3K by more than 10 seconds and became the 11th runner in school history to break eight minutes in the 3000 meters while still in school. 

2020: Competed at two meets during the season and helped the Wildcats win their third consecutive indoor BIG EAST team title; FastTrack National Invitational (2/14): Individual winner in the 3000 meters with a time of 8:21.78 in his first race of the year; BIG EAST Championships (3/1-3/2): Scored in both the 3000 meters and the 5000 meters at the conference meet to help contribute to Villanova winning the BIG EAST title ... Came in fourth in the 5000 meters on the first day of the meet with a time of 14:18.03 and placed fifth in the 3000 meters a day later with a time of 8:18.99.

2019: First team All-American and BIG EAST champion in the Mile ... Became the 41st member of Villanova's sub-four minute mile club during the season ... Tallied the best NCAA finish in the Mile by a Wildcats runner in 40 years ... Named the Outstanding Track Performer at the BIG EAST Championships, where he helped Villanova win its fifth conference title in the last six seasons ... Competed at a total of five meets during the indoor season; Wesley A. Brown Invitational (1/12): Recorded a split of 2:59.55 over 1200 meters on the leadoff leg of the distance medley relay ... Ran as part of a Villanova lineup that finished in first place with a winning time of 9:49.57; Dr. Sander Invitational/Columbia Challenge (1/26): Ran the third leg of the 4xMile relay in which the Wildcats placed third with a time of 16:31.60 ... Villanova was the top collegiate team in the race behind two teams of athletes representing professional clubs ... The time is the second-fastest indoors in school history, trailing only a school record time of 16:19.0 which was set in 1976 at Dartmouth; David Hemery Valentine Invite (2/9): Posted a time of 3:57.80 in the Mile to become the 41st member of Villanova's sub-four minute mile club ... The time put him fourth on the Wildcats all-time indoor performance list in the Mile, trailing only Don Paige (3:54.22), Sydney Maree (3:55.5, 3:57.1) and Jordy Williamsz (3:56.84) ... Comber's time of 3:57.80 also ranks eighth overall on the Villanova performance list for times which were recorded during the collegiate indoor and outdoor seasons ... It was the fourth-leading time in the NCAA for the 2019 season at the time of the race ... He became the 16th of the 41 sub-four milers from Villanova to be coached by current Wildcats head coach Marcus O'Sullivan ... Also of note in the meet at Boston was that the Wildcats had four runners post times of 4:05 or below on the same day; BIG EAST Championships (2/22-2/23): Conference champion in the Mile and runner-up to teammate Andrew Marston in the 5000 meters ... Ran a leg of the champion 4x800 meter relay ... Won the final of the Mile in 4:00.55 after ranking fourth overall in the preliminary heats with a time of 4:18.32 ... Came in second in the 5000 meters on the opening day of the meet with a time of 14:18.59 ... Ran the third leg of the 4x800 meter relay in a lineup that posted a winning time of 7:28.55; NCAA Championships (3/8-3/9): Runner-up in the Mile at the national championships ... His finish was Villanova's best in the Mile since Sydney Maree was the runner-up in 1979 ... Comber also notched the Wildcats best finish indoors in any individual event since Adrian Blincoe was the runner-up in the 3000 meters in 2003 ... 2018: Earned first team All-America honors and was a BIG EAST champion as part of the Wildcats distance medley relay ... Also won an individual BIG EAST title in the 3000 meters while helping Villanova win the team title at the conference meet ... Recorded personal best times in both the Mile and the 3000 meters during the season ... Competed at a total of six meets during the year; Nittany Lion Challenge (1/13): Finished fourth in the 3000 meters with a time of 8:16.62 in his first race of the indoor season; Columbia Challenge (1/27): Came in 16th in the seeded section of the 3000 meters and set a new personal best with a time of 8:03.24; Villanova Invitational (2/3): Tallied a personal best time of 4:04.10 in the Mile and was the runner-up in the race; Iowa State Classic (2/9): Came in eighth in the 3000 meters with a time of 8:09.06; BIG EAST Championships (2/23-2/24): Anchored the distance medley relay with a split of 4:02.97 over 1600 meters ... Villanova won the BIG EAST title in the DMR with a time of 9:48.31 ... Won the 3000 meters the next day with a winning time of 8:05.39 and the Wildcats captured their seventh all-time team title; NCAA Championships (3/9): Recorded a split of 4:01.06 on the anchor leg of the distance medley relay ... Villanova came in eighth overall with a time of 9:35.49 to earn first team All-America recognition in the relay.

2017: Competed in five meets during the season ... Helped lead the Wildcats to a BIG EAST title in the distance medley relay, while also scoring individually at the conference meet in the 3000 meters; Gotham Cup (1/20): Came in third in the 3000 meters with a time of 8:25.70; Villanova Open (1/27): Runner-up in the Mile in 4:09.31 at the first of two Villanova home meets; Villanova Invitational (2/4): Came in second in the 3000 meters with a season-best time of 8:15.09; FastTrack National Invitational (2/10): Finished seventh in the Mile and crossed the finish line in 4:07.84; BIG EAST Championships (2/24-2/25): Led off the distance medley relay on the first day of the conference meet and helped the Wildcats post a winning time of 10:00.07 to capture the BIG EAST title in the relay ... Ran the 3000 meters the next day and scored team points with a seventh place finish and a time of 8:15.24.

2016: Competed as an unattached runner at two meets during the season; Great Dane Classic (1/16): Came in third in the 5000 meters with a time of 14:39.62; Villanova Invitational (2/6): Runner-up in the 3000 meters with a time of 8:18.61.
