David Carlvaho joined the Wildcats in the summer of 2019 as a Volunteer Assistant coach after a five year stint as head coach at Rosemont College.
Carvalho led the Rosemont College program from 2014-18. Previously, Carvalho served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Eastern University and later at Rutgers-Camden. During his time in Camden, the team advanced to the 2011 Elite Eight and the second round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament.
“The addition of David is a big time hire for this program,” stated Villanova head coach Tom Carlin. “We now have added two previous head coaches to our staff (with Balog), which is a huge asset.”
“I’ve known David since his playing days at Eastern. He is an extremely knowledgeable coach with a great work ethic. He will work mainly with our attacking players but will be fully immersed in all aspects of the program per NCAA regulations.”
As an undergraduate at Eastern University, Carvalho was named to the all-conference first-team from 2002-2004 and earned Regional All American 3rd Team honors in 2003.
