Doug Hess

Former Drexel and Campbell head couch Doug Hess joined the Wildcats for the 2021 spring season.

Hess is Villanova’s Special Assistant to the Head Coach. He brings a long track record of success with him, most recently serving as the head men’s soccer coach at Drexel University from 2010-19. Prior to that, Hess served as head coach at Campbell University for eight seasons. As a head coach Hess has taken four teams to NCAA Tournament appearances and notched five conference titles.

“To have a head coach of nearly two decades working alongside our staff in a counseling role is an unbelievable opportunity for our staff to grow as educators,” said Carlin. “Doug’s understanding of college soccer as well as his passion for the game make him a great resource for Villanova Soccer. Most importantly, to have a close personal friend around on a daily basis is a nice bonus for me.”
