Biography
Villanova Career: Played in 2575 minutes with the Wildcats, making 36 appearances with 24 starts … Scored seven points on two goals and three assists … Placing seven on her 18 shot attempts on frame.
2024: BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll (Oct. 28) … Played in all 18 games for a second consecutive season, part of the opening group six times … Scored a pair of goals with two assists for six points; BIG EAST: Played in all 10 conference matches with one opening appearance … All six of her points on the year came in league action ... Notched a career-high three points in the draw at Providence (10/27) with a goal and an assist.
2023: Started in all 18 games for the ‘Cats, logging 1422 minutes … Had an assist in the win at Temple (8/27) … Sent out 11 shot attempts with four on goal … BIG EAST: Part of the opening group in all 10 conference contests … Attempted five shots with one on frame.
Prior to Villanova: Started in five of her 27 appearances with 731 minutes of action … Scored a game-winning goal in four total shot attempts.
At TCU: Fava arrives at Villanova after spending the last two years at Texas Christian University. She was a part of Horned Frog program that won the Big 12 regular season and tournament titles in 2021 before being runners-up for both in 2022. TCU made a Sweet 16 appearance in both years she was with the team, finishing those seasons ranked eighth nationally in 2021 and 10th in 2022. She earned Big 12 All-Academic First Team status in 2022 at TCU.
At Kentucky: Fava started her career at the University of Kentucky where she started in five games as a freshman. Through her career so far, Fava has been on the Dean’s list for eight semesters. At Kentucky, she landed SEC All-Academic Team status in 2019 and 2020, was a part of the Lewis Honors College, and was a Patterson Scholar.
High School: A dual-sport athlete at Notre Dame Prep, Fava earned four varsity letters with the soccer team while earning two in basketball and captaining both squads. She also played at the club level with Coppermine United 01 in the Premier Soccer Club, winning the USYS National Championship in 2019 along with five Maryland State Championship titles from 2015-2019. Fava was the 2019 recipient of the C. Markland Kelly Athletic Award and earned numerous accolades off the field, including being a 2018-19 National Honor Societies Recognition Program Scholar. She was also a member of the Science, Math, and Spanish National Honor Societies from 2017-2019.
Personal: Born May 4, 2001 ... One of two children to Andrew and Maria Fava ... Has a brother, Andrew, who played basketball at Florida and Loyola New Orleans from 2017-2022 ... Father, Andrew, played baseball at NC State from 1982-1986 while grandfather, Frank Fava, was a basketball player at Loyola (Md.) from 1954-1955 ...
