Women's soccer head coach Fran Kulas announced the addition of Haley Miller to the team's coaching staff on February 17th, 2015. Miller joins the Wildcats following a year as the volunteer assistant coach with the women's soccer team at James Madison University.
"We are very excited to welcome Haley to our staff," said Kulas. "Having coached Haley as a youth player, I could tell then that she possessed the qualities that would parlay into a successful coaching career. I followed her career at JMU as both a player and a coach and she possesses the same qualities that we look for in our prospective student-athletes. She is hardworking, detail oriented and is a student of the game. Our entire team is looking forward to what she will bring to our program."
Prior to coaching at James Madison, Miller was a four-year standout for the Dukes and played in 69 games, made 27 starts and accumulated six goals and four assists for 16 career points. In 2013, Miller played in all 21 games and helped JMU to its first CAA regular season championship while serving as a team captain. As a freshman in 2010, Miller played in 21 games as the Dukes made their most recent appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Miller was also a standout performer in the classroom. She earned the CAA Commissioners Academic Award each of her four years as a student-athlete and was also a JMU Athletic Director Scholar-Athlete as a sophomore, junior and senior.
Prior to her collegiate playing career, Miller was a member of the Region I (ODP) team and the U17 Region 1 ODP Team coached by Kulas that traveled to Russia to compete in the FIFA International U19 Kuban Tournament.
At the youth level, Miller has served as a head coach with the Shenandoah Valley United Soccer Club in Harrisonburg, Va. since 2014 and has coached at numerous West Chester United Soccer Club camps since 2009.
Miller graduated from James Madison in 2014 with a degree in special education and is currently completing requirements to earn a master's degree in special education. She recently obtained the NSCAA Goalkeeper Level 1 Coaching Diploma.
