VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) - Ricky Wright scored 15 points and Villanova started the second half with an 18-2 run on the way to a 67-44 victory over Delaware State on Friday night.

Gary Buchanan and Reggie Bryant each had 14 points for Villanova (7-2), while Andre Matthews had 14 points for the Hornets (4-6), who played their ninth game in a 10-game road trip.

The Wildcats scored the first 12 points of the second half, including two three-point shots by Buchanan, to take a 44-26 lead. After Miles Davis scored for Delaware State, Villanova got six straight points and the Hornets never got closer than 15 points.

Delaware State stayed with Villanova in the first half by using the shot clock. Led by Bryant's 12 points, the Wildcats held a 32-26 half lead but got off only 24 shots.

The game was the first meeting for the schools.
