Wildcats Defeat Slumping Seton Hall, 74-55

VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) - Michael Bradley had 20 points and 10 rebounds as Villanova stayed in the running for an NCAA tournament bid with a 74-55 defeat of slumping Seton Hall.

The 6-10 Bradley, whose 70 percent shooting leads the nation, made 9-of-10 shots and recorded his 13th double-double for Villanova (17-10, 8-7 Big East).

Eddie Griffin was the only Pirate in double figures with 11 points as Seton Hall lost its third in a row and eight in nine games. The loss was the worst of the year for Seton Hall, and the 55 points the lowest total of the season.

Villanova and Bradley settled things early, as the Wildcats made 11 of their first 17 shots to take a 26-6 lead paced by Bradley's nine points. Meawhile, Seton Hall (13-13, 4-11) was connecting on only 3-of-17 and missed all eight of its 3-point attempts.

Villanova held a 34-17 advantage at the half, as the Pirates made only 8-of-35 shots (23 percent), while Villanova was 15-for-31 with Bradley connecting on all six of his shots.

A 23-7 run at the start of the second half capped by Ricky Wright's fast-break layup gave Villanova its biggest lead, 57-26, with 11:47 to play and the Pirates never got closer than 15 points.

Seton Hall is now 1-7 on the road in Big East games.
