Worcester, Mass. - Junior Cecily Pierce (New Canaan, Conn.) scored three goals, including the game-winner, as the Wildcats defeated the host Holy Cross Crusaders at the Hart Center Astroturf field.

Villanova led 4-3 at halftime, as Wildcat junior Sarah DePeters (Rochester, N.Y.) recorded three first half points with two goals and one assist. Holy Cross tied the score at four on a goal by sophomore Erin Rowse (Baltimore, Md.) and then took a 5-4 lead on a goal by senior Jen Amendola (Cortdlandt Manor, N.Y.), but Villanova scored the next five goals to take a 9-5 lead with 4:36 to play. The Crusaders pressured the Wildcat net over the final minutes, but could not get any closer than the final score of 10-7.

The Wildcats are now 2-4 overall, 1-1 in the Patriot League. They return to action this Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. in another Patriot League tussle, this time against Lehigh.
