Princeton, N.J. --- On the last day of the Eastern Championships at Princeton University, #12 ranked Villanova Wildcats women's water polo team fell to the ninth seeded Iona Gaels, 9-4, and dropped an 11-5 game to Bucknell in the consolation match. With both losses, the Wildcats end the 2002 campaign with a final 7-23 overall record.
In the first game of the day, four Wildcat players scored for Villanova in the loss. Sophomore Whitney Mabry and freshmen Ellen Howe, Sarah Oberhauser and Aimee Corsiglia each tallied goals in defeat while senior goalie Carly Sproul made four saves in the net.
Against Bucknell, Howe led the 'Cats with two goals, two assists and three steals. Mabry, Corsiglia and senior Erin Agee each added one goal apiece for Villanova. Sproul took the loss for the 'Cats while making five saves.
