Box Score

Syracuse, NY-The Villanova University field hockey team dropped its second straight game on Sunday, when they fell to the Indiana Hoosiers 3-1. Villanova's record now stands at 3-3, while the Hoosiers improve to 2-4. This was Villanova's final game of the Big East-Big Ten tournament.

Kimberly Nash opened up the game scoring with her second goal of the season 26:12 into the first half. Indiana would keep that lead heading into halftime.

Villanova came out strong in the second half when at the 13:50 mark, Christina Lugones tallied her second goal of the season. Both defenses remained strong, but ten minutes later, Indiana sophomore Kayla Bashore converted a corner from Erica Nilsson and Ryan Woolsey to give the Hoosiers a 2-1 lead.

Defense again led the way, however Indiana was able to add an insurance goal with just four minutes left to go in the game.

Villanova outshot Indiana 19-4 and earned eleven penalty corners to Indiana's two, but were unable to capitalize on their scoring chances.

The Wildcats take to the field next on Wednesday when they travel to West Chester for a 4:00 game.
