September 15, 2002 - The Ohio State men's soccer team rallied to score two second half goals and knock off Villanova in the Penn State Nike Classic Sunday afternoon at Jeffrey Field. With the victory, Ohio State finished with a 1-1 mark in the tournament and improves to 3-3 on the season while Villanova drops to 2-4 on the season after falling twice in the tournament.

After a scoreless tie in the first half of action, Ohio State rallied behind Andy Rosenband to take a 1-0 lead in the 67th minute when the senior forward buried a shot in the left corner of the goal off a breakaway.

The Buckeyes extended their lead to 2-0 after junior Justin Cook banged home a score off a penalty shot in the 72nd minute of the contest.

The 2-0 deficit proved to be too much for the Wildcats as Ohio State limited Villanova to just three second half shots in the victory. Buckeyes goalkeeper, Jason Wimmert picked up the win for Ohio State while Rosenband was credited with the game-winner.

Despite the losses, Wildcats head coach Larry Sullivan believes this was a productive weekend for his team.

"We found out a lot about this team this weekend, a lot of it good," Sullivan stated. "I'm encouraged about our young players and where we are heading into the meat of the Big East schedule."

Villanova returns to action this Wednesday at the Villanova Soccer Complex when it hosts St. John's at 3:30 p.m.
