Final Stats

On Friday, September 6th, in the first game of the Blue Hen Classic, the Villanova field hockey team dropped a heartbreaking shutout to the University of Delaware by the score of 1-0. With the loss, Villanova's record evens at 1-1, while the Blue Hens' record now stands at 2-1.

Delaware sophomore Erica LaBar scored what proved to be the game winner 20:43 seconds into the game. It was LaBar's second tally of the season.

Villanova mustered several scoring chances, but was stymied by Delaware's intense defense and many outstanding saves by 'keeper Stephanie Judefind.

The 'Cats put six shots on goal and were aided by Meghan Helwig's six saves.

Villanova looks to rebound from this loss with a win against the Richmond Spiders tomorrow at 1:00.
