Box Score

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The No. 17 Villanova Wildcats (7-1, 1-0 Big East) kept rolling Wednesday as they handily beat Lehigh (4-6) at the Ulrich Sports Complex. Forwards Megan Foster (Berlin, N.J./ Bishop Eustace) and Rory Rogers (Rosemont, Pa./ Sacred Heart Academy) continued their domination up front scoring all of `Nova's goals on the evening. The team, that moved into the national rankings this week for the first time in program history, is currently on a three-game win streak.

Lehigh kept the contest scoreless in the first half, but just three minutes into the second half, `Nova broke open the game. Rogers took a dish from Lauren Campanelli (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) during a scramble in front of the goal and slid it past Mountain Hawk keeper, Meghan Gove, to make the score 1-0. Campanelli also had a big week being named the Big East Offensive Player of the Week and ECAC Player of the Week after an outstanding showing against No. 15 Connecticut.

Foster got into the action in the 42nd minute receiving a pass from Sara Schmidt (Mullica Hill, N.J./Wilmington Friends) and blasting it past Gove. Rogers answered the goal with one of her own twenty seconds later off of another Schmidt assist. This marked the seventh goal on the year for Rogers.

Foster wasn't finished yet, and found the back of the cage two more times before the final whistle to make the score 5-0. The Berlin, N.J. native garnered her tenth goal and first hat trick for the season placing her atop the team scoring list.

Villanova travels to Rutgers (5-3) on Friday evening for its second Big East contest of the year looking to improve to 2-0 in conference play.
