Villanova, Pa.-Villanova men's tennis (1-0) won all six singles points and the doubles point to defeat La Salle 7-0 yesterday at the Villanova West Tennis Complex.
The Wildcats all earned straight sets victories in singles and easily won the doubles point.
In the no. 1 singles slot, Dimitri Chimerakis defeated. Marco Onarato 6-4, 6-3. Scott Fahrendorf played at the #2 spot and beat Ross Flockerzie 6-1, 6-2. Brian Maher won his first set over Eric Glick 6-3 before winning all six games in the second to take the no. 3 singles match. Charlie Farmer only allowed Corey Hansen one game in two sets to take a 6-1, 6-0 decision at the #6 spot.
Chimerakis and Maher teamed up to defeat Onarato and Glick 8-1 in no. 1 doubles. Fahrendorf and Farmer paired to beat Scott Karwowski and Chris Butera 8-4, and Villanova's John Borden and Sumanth Chittajallu took an 8-1 victory from Flockerzie and Hansen.
