VILLANOVA, Pa. - Senior forward Charlie Rowan (Livingston, N.J.) was named co-player of the week by the Philadelphia Soccer Seven today. Rowan shares the award with Penn's Ryan Tracy.

On Sunday Rowan helped insure that a stellar Wildcat defensive effort would not go unrewarded when he fired a low shot into the net at 94:59, giving the `Cats a 1-0 win over No. 18 Seton Hall. The loss was Seton Hall's first home Big East loss since Oct. 27, 2002.

Rowan now leads the Wildcats in goals with three and ranks second in the Soccer Seven in that category.

Villanova goalkeeper Jason Friel (Dublin, Pa.) was named to the Soccer Seven Honor Roll this week. Friel made nine saves in the win at Seton Hall, including several big stops as the Pirates pushed forward in the second half.

The Wildcats return home to face La Salle on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
