Final Stats

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - The Villanova Wildcats (3-8, 0-3 Patriot League) dropped a game to the Monmouth Hawks (3-6), 13-5, on Wednesday afternoon in New Jersey. Despite strong performances by Alex Garvey (Summit, N.J.) and Kathleen Kelly (Manhasset, N.Y.), Villanova couldn't overcome a barrage of Monmouth shots.

Garvey scored her first goal of the day early in the second half off of a pass by Amanda Carlson (Middle Island, N.Y.). Monmouth came roaring back with four goals before Garvey silenced them with her second of the afternoon.

In the final fifteen minutes, Kelly scored her second goal of the day, but the Hawks were able to hit the net five more times making the final 13-5.

Jessica Brozena (West Long Branch, N.J.) registered her eighth loss of the season but had 13 saves to Monmouth's 11. Villanova picked up five more groundballs 24-19, but were out shot 28-19.
