Marina Muncan Wins 1500m at Sea Ray Relays

Knoxville, Tenn. - Senior Marina Muncan won the 1500m and sophomore Frances Koons and graduate student Ioana Parusheva placed second and fifth, respectively, at the Sea Ray Relays over the weekend.

All three runners turned in NCAA Regional qualifying times for the Wildcats. Muncan ran 4:19.00, Koons ran 4:22.19, and Parusheva ran 4:24.14. Junior Monique Morgan placed third in the women's 100m hurdles in a time of 13.36, her second regional qualifying time of the season. Freshman Ellen Dougherty achieved her first BIG EAST outdoor qualifying time in the 800m (2:13.11).

On the second day of the relays, the 4x800m team of Koons, Muncan, Parusheva, and junior Akilah Vargas took home second place in a time of 8:34.47.
