Villanova blocked two kicks in a game for the first time since doing so on October 9, 2004 in a 34-30 loss at Northeastern. In that game, Allyn Bacchus and Terrance Reaves each blocked extra-point attempts.

The last time the Wildcats blocked a field goal attempt came at Penn on September 25, 2004 in a 16-13 victory. In that game, Darrell Adams and Terrance Reaves blocked field goal attempts of 23 and 21 yards, respectively.

The Wildcats had not recorded both a blocked field goal and a blocked punt in the same game since doing so on November 16, 2002 in a 45-3 win over Rhode Island. Gary Johnson blocked a punt and Jamison Young blocked a field goal in that game.

The last time a Villanova opponent returned a kickoff for a touchdown came on September 10, 2005 when Rutgers' Willie Foster returned the game's opening kickoff for a 93-yard touchdown in Piscataway, N.J.

Prior to today's game, Joe Marcoux had attempted 45 career field goals and only one had been blocked. The one that was blocked was a 31-yard attempt against James Madison in his freshman season of 2005. Marcoux had attempted 41 straight field goals since then without having one of his attempts blocked.

Over the past two games, Aaron Ball has carried 40 times for 260 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 6.5 yards per carry in that span. Ball has now rushed for 426 yards and five scores this season and is averaging 85.2 rushing yards per game.

In starting the last two games, Chris Whitney has gone 34-of-49 (69.4%) for 362 yards with three touchdowns and one interceptions. Today's game against William & Mary marked the first time this season that the Wildcats did not have any pass attempts picked off by the other team.

Villanova's only loss this season came in its opening game to FBS opponent West Virginia. Going back to last season, the Wildcats have won six straight games against FCS opponents.
