Recap | Box Score

PAVILION WINNING STREAK
With tonight's win, Villanova extends its second-longest winning streak inside The Pavilion to 20 games. The last loss for the Wildcats in the building came to DePaul, 73-65, on January 6, 2007. Eleven days later, Villanova defeated Notre Dame to begin the current streak. The longest win streak for the Wildcats in their on-campus home is 23 games. That streak began with a win over Pittsburgh on January 18, 1995 and culminated with a 64-46 win over Oral Roberts on January 8, 1997. The streak ended when Villanova fell to Miami (Fla.), 61-59, on January 11.

REYNOLDS IN THE TOP 10
Junior guard Scottie Reynolds moved into the top 10 in school history for career three-pointers made in tonight's game. Reynolds hit four triples in the contest and now has 158 for his career to rank 10th all-time. Next on the career list are Greg Woodard and Chris Walker, who are each tied for eighth place with 188 career three-pointers.

REYNOLDS ON THE CAREER SCORING LIST
With 23 points in tonight's game, Scottie Reynolds also moved up to 43rd on the school's career scoring list. He now has 1,154 points and needs one more to tie Harold Jensen (1983-87) for 42nd place with 1,155 points.

CUNNINGHAM EXTENDS SCORING STREAK
Senior forward Dante Cunningham scored in double figures for the 10th straight game with his 13 points tonight. Cunningham has reached double figures in every game this season as well as doing so in the final two games of the 2007-08 campaign. The last time a Wildcat had a streak of 10 straight games scoring in double figures occurred when Scottie Reynolds did so last season.

STOKES CAREER HIGH POINTS
Sophomore guard Corey Stokes scored a career-high 22 points in this evening's contest. Stokes played 27 minutes and finished the night 7-of-11 from the field, 6-of-9 from three-point range and 2-of-2 at the foul line. This was the second time in his career that Stokes has scored at least 20 points in a game.

SEASON HIGH THREE-POINTERS
Villanova made a season-high 12 three-pointers in tonight's game, reaching double figures in triples for the first time this season. The Wildcats finished 12-of-25 (48%) from long distance. Leading the way for the Wildcats was sophomore guard Corey Stokes, who went 6-of-9 from behind the arc and finished with a career-high 22 points. The 11 three-pointers allowed to Houston Baptist were also a season high against Villanova.

LUCKY SEVEN
For the 12th time in its history, Villanova has started the season with at least seven consecutive victories. It is the second-best start under head coach Jay Wright after the 2005-06 squad that started the year 10-0 before suffering its first loss. The Wildcats best start to a season was 13 straight wins at the beginning of the 1937-38 campaign.
