Villanova, Pa. - The Wildcats (5-1) returned to their winning ways Saturday in their 16-6 victory over Lehigh (1-6). Junior Paul Webber (Manhasset, N.Y.) recorded three goals and three assists in the contest brining his season total to nine goals and 10 assists.

A goal by Lehigh with 10:07 remaining was answered by scores from Webber, senior Tim Langan (Madison, N.J.) and freshmen CJ Small (San Diego, Calif.) and Kevin Cunningham (Garden City, N.J.) to give the Wildcats a lead that they would never lose. Cunningham's goal was the first of his Villanova career.

With Villanova up 6-1 at the beginning of the second quarter, Scioscia struck again to give the Wildcats a 7-1 lead. Lehigh went on to answer with three goals in a row to finish the half with Villanova up 7-4.

Beginning in the third quarter, the Wildcats put the game out of reach for the Mountain Hawks by scoring nine unanswered goals. Webber went on to have two more goals in the streak while Small, Liva and Langan each added another score. Freshman Matt Bell (Serverna Park, Md.), sophomore Mike Brennan (Manhasset, N.Y.) and senior Tim Driscoll (Montville, N.J.) also contributed goals. Driscoll continues to lead the Wildcats with 13 goals and Brennan, who had two assists in the contest, leads Villanova with 10.

In the goal, senior Andrew DiLoreto (Wilton, Conn.) continued to impress as he now has 48 saves in 2009, including eight against Lehigh. Allowing only four goals, DiLoreto has held opponents to 34 goals in six games.

Mountain Hawks leading scorer Ricky Cornetta finished the day with two goals in the loss. Goalkeeper Conor Murphy had nine saves and allowed nine goals for Lehigh.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday March 21st in their first conference game when they host Delaware. The face-off is set for 7 p.m. at Villanova Stadium.
