Day one of the 2010 NCAA East Region rounds was a success for the Villanova men's track and field squad. All four Wildcats who competed today advanced to the next round of their respective events.

In the 400m hurdles, junior Stefan Goodridge and freshman Nicoy Hines qualified to Friday's quarterfinal which is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Goodridge crossed the finish line in 51.81 seconds, while Hines recorded a time of 52.20 seconds.

In the 1,500m run, sophomore Mathew Mildenhall and junior Carl Mackenzie have moved on to the quarterfinal round set for Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Mildenhall ran 3:50.16, while Mackenzie finished in 3:51.30. Both were in the top five of their heats.

Also competing tomorrow will be senior Dan Lewis who makes his first appearance in the quarterfinals of the 3,000m steeplechase.
